Hard on the heels of Thursday’s announcement by TSN that they would broadcast much of next weekend’s qualifying and bumping sessions from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway leading up to the 100th anniversary of the Indy 500 on May 29 comes this announcement from IndyCar.
Beginning today (Saturday) at 11 a.m., all activity from the Speedway not being covered by American broadcasters ABC and Versus will be available at www.indycar.com via streaming video on your computer.
The streaming video will be integrated with real-time Timing & Scoring and audio from the trackside public address system.
It all starts at 11 a.m. today as the Speedway opens for practice. On-track activity will run from noon to 6 p.m. from today through next Friday. Driver interviews from the media centre will be broadcast following the day’s practice sessions.
Even when ABC or Versus is broadcasting next weekend – and remember, TSN is carrying much of the qualifying from Indy on TSN2 (see post below) – live streaming video will continue but will focus on interviews from the media centre of drivers who have made qualification runs.
Alex Tagliani, Paul Tracy and James Hinchcliffe will be seeking to carry Canada's flag into battle and we can follow their progress every moment that the track is open.
It can’t get much better than this, can it?
