Big buzz in the Parliamentary press gallery today over former Liberal cabinet minister and Deputy PM Sheila Copps. She's joining Quebecor as a columnist, and will be filing twice a week for both the Sun papers (en anglais) and Le Journal de Montréal (in French).
Copps was always popular in la belle province where, for a while, she was briefly known as La Passionara or some such thing, thanks to her language skills and, um, expressiveness. (Hey! I can relate!)
Quebecor is even building an office for her, doncha know. I'm hearing that other Sun stalwarts in the Ottawa bureau are not thrilled at the prospect of bumping into Copps at the coffee machine.
So how long before she has a show on Sun TV?

So what happened to the National Post gig? We are just so behind out here on the Island....

The new Morton Shulman for the 21st century. Or as SCTV parodied it., Murray.Even more applicable with the CBC strike. Wonder when they will bring back re-runs of "This Is the Law".

What a coup! Now the Sun will feature columns by John Crosbie and Nobody's Baby herself.
