I'll be fine and I'll be back.
Until then, comment moderation will be light to non-existent.
Behave.
Think of it this way: Absence makes the heart grow fonder.
Please send your thoughts and prayers to regular commenter and fellow blogger Dr. Dawg and his lady Marianne. They need them. I don't.

UPPITY DATE: Only because it made me laugh out loud, and we could all use more laughs.
Tip of the hat to Ron Saba.
NOT YET READY TO SET A DATE: Thanks for your emails and comments asking me to come back and pronounce on everything from the attack on my home province of Quebec by The Globe and Mail's Jan Wong to the resignation of CBC chair Guy Fournier, not to mention the 9/11 coverage and on and on. It feels good to be missed. But I will be away from the keyboard for a while yet.
Oh, and my Mom is as fine as an 89-year old can be, thanks.
DATE BOOKED: Watch this space. I will be back by Halloween. (BOO!)

Oh and the rules around this joint will be changed.
That's what happens when some of you don't behave. Collective punishment!!

Hey AZ, it's been 20 min since you posted this. Ya still peakin'?
Have a good break. You deserve it.

Antonia, you deserve a long break, but as someone who uses a computer for a living, I know that staying away may be easier said then done.
I recommend Crete this time of year.

Take a rest, where am I going to get my comic relief responding to
Greg Felton and others.?

Have a nice holiday and come back refreshed.

Antonia,
Please get your Zeta ray detector re-calibrated while on hiatus. Every time you go away something of importance happens!
Today its 'This Is Wonderland tops the list of 2006 Gemini Award nominees.'
Now isn't that just GREAT! The best darn show CBC had and, as we hashed out months ago, they cancelled it!

Sorry to see you off-line - even for a while.
This blog is unique - as is the dialogue that takes place (usually) in the comments.
Sometimes your output of scoops, opinion, and background seemed super-human. Add to that the constant job moderating comments and discussions, and it is a wonder you were able to keep it up along with your "day job".
So taking a break seems inevitable, and deserved.
In the meantime Torstar would be smart to recongnize what was happening here, and give you added support to further develop what you've started.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com, and http://www.truthdig.com come to mind as interesting formats.

I know. Mass firings at Global.
The world will go on without me for a while, Sony.
Posted by: Antonia Z. | August 30, 2006 at 12:30 PM
Mass firings? I can't find anything about it. Got any links anyone?
Posted by: Dana | August 30, 2006 at 01:22 PM
No links Dana.
And ''mass'' was hyperbole.
The got rid of Ontario evening news anchor Jacqueline Milczarek.

I also hear that sports guy Jim Tatti got kicked out.
Now I am NOT working.
Goodbye.

Ahem - was it something I said?
Sorry - supplications and genuflections -
I'll never never do whatever it was again....
Have a great break - we'll be watching for you......
Posted by: Jiminy C in Rainbow Country | September 02, 2006 at 10:20 AM
Heck - if supplications and genuflections don't work - I'll revert to type.....
For you - ahem - MEN out there - Zerb is ALL WOMAN - specializes in most tasteful but subtlely feminine garb - not just a brainiac - (unlike some who recently BLOGGed that they are almost over the hill and bind their boobs in scarves now or summit)-
Maybe Mr. Goldbloom has asked her to do wonders on the Star PM (quite appropriate for a late rising person) or just maybe we have caused her much bother with loony posts like this onethat she is melting from the acid over in the corner somewhere....
There are some good people who frequent this BLOG - their points of view may not always sync. with mine - but I respect - and I think Madame Z. respects - their right to express them - but you guys - don't expect to go unchallenged.....

I'm feeling a mix of sad, vindicated and hopeful over the _Wonderland_ nominations myself. I seem to recall we had a web alliance of fans seeking to preserve/revive the series not too long ago. Anyone looking to take another shot at it?

Ms. Antonia
Some months ago I commented on the possibility of Jon Stewart for President and was left to feel that I was a little deluded. Fortunately HuffPo has taken up the cause and now perhaps Mr. Muskoka et al can set their musings to a little more that bemoaning what is and have a little enthusiasm for what could be.

william fudger,

Well, All I can say is Jon Stewart is far too intelligent to ever be selected as POTUS! He has a functional brain, and that is a BIG NO! NO! for the Wizards behind the curtains of power!

So Mme Zerbie,
Have ya hit the "bloggers' wall"--are ya all blogged out???
If yes, then it's a loss to Cancontent and the T-Star and a triumph for those idjits who have been your steady detractors such as the Grasper bros' ankle-bitin shit-fer- brains semi-house broken Chinchilla.
'Hope to see you back posting anon.
Er, that's it.

We've already got "Jon Stewart for President" in Michael Ignatieff.
I think he's funny as hell.
