I'm sorry if this sounds overly snarky, but could you have possibly given any less information in your Jackson-Ahrens-Cooper answer? "What are they like, strengths, weaknesses etc.?" You basically just told him where they all were drafted and what positions they play (things he can look up on his own and prob already knows) as well as what order you see them in right now, with no explanation of why that's your order or what you like/dislike about any of them.

Richard, I always enjoy reading your columns not only because of your baseball-related insight but also because the quality of your writing tends to be a notch above many of your colleagues at major daily newspapers in Canada.

It is only because I hold your writing in such high esteem that I decided to inform you of the error you made in the mail bag above: There is no such word as 'conversating', as you used it to describe the homeless people at Wharf Rat. It is often used but always incorrect. The word you were searching for was 'conversing'.

Thanks again for all your great work. I can't wait for the season.

R-Griff

Actually, the vagueness of the analysis of the three Jays' star minor-league players is purposeful. The question as submitted related to their major-league readiness. When all three players are still three years away from being in the majors, one would only be analyzing their Dunedin readiness which I don't believe was the question. At Lansing, Ahrens made3 27 errors at third and Jackson 26 at shortstop. It's like predicting what a kid in Grade 5 is going to do in Grade 8. Let's talk about these guys again at mid-season and see who's progressed the most from Class-A readiness. If you had submitted a list of Russ Adams' strength and weaknesses in '04, it turned out to be useless predicting. What's your hurry on these guys. Let them develop.

Greg

But why answer the question at all then Richard?

Brandon

As for your next trip, I would suggest Baltimore on a summer weekend...............

I'm a Jays fan here in Maryland and on a nice summer weekend theres nothing better than a game at Camden Yards. Staying over in or around Fell's Point is a great idea and everything is pretty close to the harbor and the stadiums. Pickles Pub is right there and yes the Wharf Rat is good too, try any of the Oliver brews. Also, in regards to Boog's BBQ, at Thursday games you can get a center field bleacher seat (amazing view) and a sandwich from Boog's for $23. Used to be $20, but yea that's Angelos.

And the homeless aren't that bad, just like any other city. Oh yea, the Susq empties into the Chesapeake Bay. The oceans a few hours from Baltimore. But Havre de Grace is beautiful. Check out an Aberdeen Ironbirds game if you really want as much baseball as you can get around here. The facilities for the team and for Ripken baseball are pretty impressive.

Greg

I mean, I guess I just don't understand it. I'm not trying to be confrontational, but it seems like you didn't really answer the question, and then basically explained that the reason you didn't answer the question is that it would be pointless to answer the question. But you selected the question in the first place.
