Really... Do you even pay attention to the Majors? This is the most confused ranking I've ever seen. The only parts you have close to accurate are the Marlins at top and Nationals at the bottom. Try a little harder next time, and I thought this was supposed to be weekly, not when you decide to get around to it...

Ricahrd,
Im not sure how you come up with these "power rankings" but usually they reflect the teams record and the way they have played the week before. I don't understand how the Jays are 9th in the league, when their record and play has been arguably the best in the American League. Fox Sports power rankings have them 3rd which is much more reflective. Your negativity towards the team you cover still eminates even when they are playing the best baseball we have seen in a long time.

Griff, your pretty quiet these days.
Perhaps your laying low because the Jays only need to go 65-83 to meet your 75 win total as of Monday. Thats basically a .450 winning percentage which even the worst Jays teams (except for 2004) seem to keep above.
Time to order up some crow yet or still holding out hope for a collapse?

The Mariners are winning because Junior has settled the clubhouse? Nothing to do with Bedard's return to dominance, right?

You must be putting scotch in your coffee instead of cream. The jays at 9th???? They are at 10-4 not 4-10. My book they should be no less than 3rd or 4th. I guess your age is showing or maybe its the negative side of life.

Geez...whats with the hate for Griff?. First off, Jason, no one could have predicted the start. I'm sure you were at home yelling at JP for doing nothing in the off season while losing Burnett as an F.A. and Marcum and McGowan to injury...and why were you angry???...cause you were sure there was no way this team could compete with a weaker roster than that off opening day a year ago. Tonnes of surprises on the team, but don't tell me you thought you knew Lind, Scutaro, Snider, Romero, Rolen, and Hill would all jump out of the gates.

as for the ratings, how about considering that there are a couple ways to rate teams. It seems Richard has rated the teams before the beginning of the season, and is slowly moving them up or done based on their performance thus far. As a result going 10-4 after two weeks doesn't amount to much (in the grand scheme of things) since there is a lot of baseball left to play.

"Wang not wight"

HILARIOUS LOLZ!

Wow... so much hate for an arbitrary list that doesn't seem too far off.

If anyone actually thought this team would be any good before the season started, they were awfully quiet about it.

I'm hopeful they can keep it up, but I'm still waiting for the proverbial other shoe. Let's not start planning the parade just yet....

John
Thanks for telling me how I think.
First of all ,I did not question JP as I believe that he was right not to sign anyone. A 100 million payrole isn't always a good thing. I am all for letting some guys that are younger get some big league at bats which is what happens when you don't sign big name free agents.Jumping up and down at JP, I doubt it because I think he does a pretty good job for the most part. He'd drafted real well since in the last few years
Secondly, I was predicicting Lind and Hill to start the season on a tear. Lind has been on fire ever since Cito made room for him to his immediate left. As for Hill, he proved he was a stud two years ago and he's one of three players who can hit 75R, 75RBI's and 15HRS and a .290 average that plays second base. I also had Snider hitting well until pitchers know what to throw him.
If you want to speak about comments feel free but don't tell me how I think or feel because you don't know.
As far as me picking on Griff, I thought his 78 wins was way low and I also though 85-88 was the number. Its easier to sneak up on teams when they don't expect you to win anything.

Richard

Just wondering how the axe grinding is going? Ace is getting a little nervous. Jays move to 9th by having the best record in the AL and outpacing their opp. by 29 runs, but dropping the Indians 11 spots and the Halo's only 4? What in the world is this 'Power Ranking' based on? Honestly. Maybe next time you could pull back the curtain and show us who's working the lever's.
