BAUTISTA NAMED JAYS PLAYER-OF-THE-MONTH

In a unanimous vote collected by the Toronto Chapter of the BBWAA, right fielder Jose Bautista was named Honda's April Player-of-the-Month for the Jays.

Bautista had 30 hits and 28 walks with an on-base average of .532 in 24 games. He hit .366, with nine homers, 15 RBIs and a 1.312 OPS.

AARON HILL LOOKS TO PLAY ON FRIDAY

The injured Aaron Hill is feeling much better with his right leg injury and is hoping to fly home from Tampa with the Jays and be activated on Friday. Hill has been out since April 19 when he slid head first into second on a stolen base and injured his right thigh just above the knee.

“He hopes to be back in the lineup later this week,” Farrell said. “He's going to get into some (Dunedin) games, probably by mid-week. He'll get a couple of games in before he gets back with us.”

Meanwhile, Jayson Nix is still experiencing soreness in his left shin and his return is uncertain.

A-Dunedin (8-18) lost to Daytona 4-2 on Saturday. RH Deck McGuire was the loser (6.1 IP; 3H; 4R; 3ER; 3BB; 3SO).
