Jays recall Darin Mastroianni
The Blue Jays on Wednesday recalled the contract of outfielder Darin Mastroianni from the roster of AAA-Las Vegas. The move was made because second baseman Kelly Johnson has yet to report to the Jays and will not be added to the roster until Thursday.
The Jays initially recalled catcher Brian Jeroloman to fill the roster spot left by the departure of Aaron Hill and John McDonald, but with the wrist injury to centre fielder Colby Rasmus on Tuesday, it left the Jays shorthanded in the outfield.
Mastroianni, 25, was batting .273 with 14 stolen bases in 68 games at Vegas. He was a 16th round pick in the June '07 draft. Travis Snider might have been the short term recall except that he has missed the last two games in Vegas with a wrist injury. Canadian Adam Loewen is not on the 40-man roster which made it problematic in terms of roster flexibility if they wanted to send him back down when Rasmus is ready to return.
The Jays will make an additional 25-man roster move on Thursday when Johnson is activated. The most likely candidate is third catcher Brian Jeroloman who was recalled on Wednesday before Rasmus was injured.

Is it just me or is it when The Bluejay get something good they seem to break the team apart
