When Palin-mania was in full blossom two weeks ago, polls showed Obama 47 votes short of the 270 required for victory in the Electoral College.
Today it's just 20. (McCain needs 117 to close the gap.)
Which means Obama need only add Florida (27 votes).
Or Ohio (20).
Or Virginia (13) and Colorado (9).
Or Minnesota (10) and Missouri (11).
Those swing states all remain too close to call. But the math for McCain is daunting.
The Arizona senator pretty much has to run the table of the 10 remaining undecided states, taking Florida (27), Ohio (20), North Carolina (15), Virginia (13), Indiana (11), Missouri (11), Minnesota (10) and Colorado (9), Nevada (5) or New Hampshire (4).
