Girl guide to Christmas

January If you're looking for a little something different as a stocking stuffer for your favourite feminist -- or feminist lover -- consider the Antigone Foundation's Dreams for Women calendar:

The project began in January 2008 and has since been featured in Ms. Magazine and in the International Museum of Women, garnering worldwide media attention and submissions from as far away as Japan, Germany, Brazil, France, and Romania. The Dreams for Women art project asks women and men of all ages to tell us what their dreams are for women by painting, drawing, writing, sketching or decoupaging them onto a postcard. Postcards are posted every second Saturday on the Antigone Magazine blog.

Lots of postcard samples here.

The calendars, which are $20 plus shipping a pop on an individual basis, can be purchased online.

The money raised by selling these calendars is instrumental for us to launch Antigone For Girls (a magazine written by and for girls aged 10-15 that will encourage them to get involved in leadership and politics).

It's a good cause and an inexpensive gift. Go for it.

Ann Coulter's got a new book out

"Guilty: Liberal "Victims" and Their Assault on America "

I can't wait

Your mentioning of their calendar has caused such a flow of traffic that their website has been shut down!!!

I do hope your trip was excellent in virtually all aspects.

Ann Coulter's also got her jaw wired shut. Truly a shame...

Doesn't matter
I never watch her on TV, just read her articles and books
She's got leftists and liberals harpooned and they know it
And they squeal like stuck pigs

"Liberals and leftists" really don't care, since the only market for Coulter's gibberish are people who simply want their preconceived notions and prejudices to be confirmed. I predict we'll see this particular tome join her earlier works on the remainder table in the not-too-distant future...possibly even before she can speak again.

Broadsides by Antonia Zerbisias

  • Antonia Zerbisias has been a Star columnist since 1989 but has been telling people what she thinks ever since she could open her mouth. Her career ambition as an opinionator dates back to Grade 9 when a cartoon commentary on a teacher resulted in her suspension from high school. The principal sent her home with a note calling her "rude, obstreperous and bold." Her parents were neither amused, nor surprised. Once she was punished for being that way. Now she makes it pay. And, because she can take it as well as dish it out, she wants to hear what you have to say. Fire away!
