I prefer Holding 'Em

Last year, the boy got me an iTouch for my birthday. I love it. I take it with me when I am traveling to stay in touch with the world. It stores my contacts and photos. It's loaded with music. And over the past few months, I have installed all sorts of killer apps, from satellite weather forecasts to workout videos to dictionaries to maps to TTC schedules to timewasters like Solitaire and Hangman.

My fave is Texas Hold 'Em which I play on trains and planes, in waiting rooms and whenever I am too tired to read but not ready to sleep. So far I am up $263,000 -- and, by the way, I play in real life (for loonies and toonies) and am pretty good at it.

Anyway, so now there's a new app called Wobble. You take a photo, select some bits, and then the program makes those bits jiggle very realistically. It's officially being promoted with this very cute YouTube video of a piggy.

Kind of apt really considering what most guys are apparently doing with it.

But I can't link to those YouTubes because my Star overlords will kill me.

What can I say? Boys will be boys.

Broadsides by Antonia Zerbisias

  • Antonia Zerbisias has been a Star columnist since 1989 but has been telling people what she thinks ever since she could open her mouth. Her career ambition as an opinionator dates back to Grade 9 when a cartoon commentary on a teacher resulted in her suspension from high school. The principal sent her home with a note calling her "rude, obstreperous and bold." Her parents were neither amused, nor surprised. Once she was punished for being that way. Now she makes it pay. And, because she can take it as well as dish it out, she wants to hear what you have to say. Fire away!
