The Sex Slavery Monologues
Eve Ensler, she of The Vagina Monologues and anti-violence activism, brings it all home in 8:20, as she riffs about all the girls in the world dragged into sex slavery. This bit is specifically about Congo.

Antonia Zerbisias has been a Star columnist since 1989 but has been telling people what she thinks ever since she could open her mouth. Her career ambition as an opinionator dates back to Grade 9 when a cartoon commentary on a teacher resulted in her suspension from high school. The principal sent her home with a note calling her "rude, obstreperous and bold." Her parents were neither amused, nor surprised. Once she was punished for being that way. Now she makes it pay. And, because she can take it as well as dish it out, she wants to hear what you have to say. Fire away!
My God, but that is brilliant, and powerfully delivered. I held back until the moment when Ensler shouts Marta's mother's words, but then I cried through the rest of it.

Ditto skdadl. Tears still on my face.
How can we make them stop? What censure will they listen to? Why the heck do we destroy a civilization in Iraq, and not defend children in Darfur?

“How can we make them stop? What censure will they listen to?”
Pat Pet,
If you can think of a method other than military intervention, the concomitant fees and retainers would make winning the lottery look like a tax refund.
“Why the heck do we . . . . . not defend children in Darfur?”
Do you really want more military intervention, which, like it or not, would be spun by the usual suspects as anti-Muslim?
Think about shoes a bit more, it might cheer you up a bit.

Stygian, I am nobody's pet. Your comment is awfully close to "don't worry your little head about it."
Have you been told today?

Pat Pet,
My comment was actually meant to be taken at face value.
What alternative would you suggest to military intervention?
I would be very interested to know.
