Headed off at the pass
I have, after a 19-year remission, been revisited by the beast, a cluster headache attack, which has been growing worse over the past couple of weeks.
The bad news is, I am not getting much sleep, while getting a lot of pain. Thankfully I have some tools that take the edge off.
The good news is, my dreams are Oscar-winning cast-of-thousands cinematic spectacles. Last night I was banging my head on the table while attempting to negotiate with the president of Iran over the stoning of women while the night before I was running a kind of kindertransport for Gazan children, hanging off the door of one of the cars while my head was getting bashed along the security barrier. Of course, both times I woke with killer headaches.
The other upside is that I have to cut out so many foods (including cheese, nuts, beans, citrus fruits which are among my staples!) that I am down to cereal and dry pasta.
That ought to take off a few pounds.
I know that this is migraine season for many. You have my sympathy.
But cluster headaches are a whole different ballgame.
And guess what?
It's very inusual for a woman to have them.
