Lying down on the job

The following comes from one of the most brilliant and funny men I know. For now -- and maybe forever --Conservative math he  remains anonymous.

But, unlike journalists who are mostly, and notoriously, innumerate, he did the math on the forced-birthers' and Bill O'Reilly's oft-cited ''60,000 babies murdered by Tiller the Killer!'' hysteria.

Guess what? It doesn't add up.

Here it is, unedited:

o.k bill. stand down. everyone knows you didn't pull the trigger on this guy. but let's do a little fact checking here.

60,000 abortions. that's a big number. it's a decent-sized town or even a small city full of dead babies. personally, i don't know if there's anything i've ever done 60,000 times. he must have been really, really passionate about killing babies -- especially the ones in the third trimester.

so figure there's what? 220 working days in a year? that's like one late term abortion per day for -- let's get out the old calculator here -- nearly 273 years.

o.k., so obviously, the guy must've worked on weekends, right? otherwise, there's no way he could have ripped all those innocent children from the wombs of all those unwilling mothers. so let's see here...60,000 divided by 365...164 years.

closer. but as evil as this man was, i doubt that his professional career could've amounted to more than twice an unaborted human lifespan. he must've been doing more than one a day.

so lets see, if he killed two babies a day, then he could've sucessfully produced his bloody infant body count in a mere 82 years. but then, you have to factor in his age and training -- he probably didn't impregnating and rip the living, crying infants out of all those 60,000 underage girls until after he obtained his professional qualifications...well, all but a thousand, lets say (gotta figure it was a hobby before he took it up professionally).

so, we're talking 59,000 cruelly slaughtered babies between 2009 and...now when was he born? hmm. let's check wikipedia. right, 1941. and figure it takes 20 years to go through university, and ten more to get a medical licence, and minus five because of the evil that fuelled him in his quest to murder innocent children...so, great. that works out to 33 years of drugging young girls, violating them sexually, and then ripping the living offspring from their bleeing wombs to offer to satan, whom he worshipped.

and he did this five times a day, every day, for 33 years.

sick. evil. disgusting. but you also have to admire the dedication.

Add the fact that some 2,200 abortions per year qualify as ''late term,'' which is what Dr. Tiller specialized in, are performed per year, multiply that by the number of years since Roe-v-Wade (1973), and you get 72,000 abortions.

Which would mean that Dr. Tiller performed 83 per cent of all legal late term abortions ever performed in the USA.

The American Taliban is not only twisted and dishonest, it's also stupid.

FAIL.

Hehehe. Does the funny man know of your homage?

I emailed him this morning but have not heard back.

.. apparently Tiller himself may have claimed the 60,000 as a sort of boast ...

still makes O'Reilly a bit of a twit for not checking

remember the O'Reilly in Fawlty Towers?

Broadsides by Antonia Zerbisias

  • Antonia Zerbisias has been a Star columnist since 1989 but has been telling people what she thinks ever since she could open her mouth. Her career ambition as an opinionator dates back to Grade 9 when a cartoon commentary on a teacher resulted in her suspension from high school. The principal sent her home with a note calling her "rude, obstreperous and bold." Her parents were neither amused, nor surprised. Once she was punished for being that way. Now she makes it pay. And, because she can take it as well as dish it out, she wants to hear what you have to say. Fire away!
