Antonia Zerbisias has been a Star columnist since 1989 but has been telling people what she thinks ever since she could open her mouth. Her career ambition as an opinionator dates back to Grade 9 when a cartoon commentary on a teacher resulted in her suspension from high school. The principal sent her home with a note calling her "rude, obstreperous and bold." Her parents were neither amused, nor surprised. Once she was punished for being that way. Now she makes it pay. And, because she can take it as well as dish it out, she wants to hear what you have to say. Fire away!
Why is a 9 r old in high boots, a short skirt with too much lipstick and eye shadow who is trying to look more like a streetwalker than a Princess.
Little boys for the most part want to be athletes and little girrls princesses. No big deal.
Streethooker look is sad at this age. Shame on her parents.

Y'know what? I'm not a prude, I cannot get over that 9 year old looking a bit like the fake real life prostitute Julia Roberts embodies in Pretty Woman. How can a nine year old dress up so she looks 19? Worst part about it is, she's gorgeous, so she'll be encouraged to do this a lot.

I can't figure out why this is such a scary image, yet it is. At that age, my bro, sis and I used to go out as pirates, fortune tellers, witches... things we could scavenge from old wardrobes and inexpensive pieces from The Apothecary and Book & Toy Village.
This picture is just waaaay to sexed up. 9 years old. That means she's in grade 4, yes? Should not be happening.

'Featured' photo looks more like a trick than a treat.

Maybe she's just a fashionista vampire.
As for scavenging for costumes I'm guessing that's part of the wardrobe she bought this summer and forgot about after Labour Day.

It is not entirely clear to me that Disney sanctions, or even wants to include, the 'or'.....

The boots wouldn't be so bad if the skirt wasn't so very very short...can't tell if they're heels or not. I remember dressing up in my gran's heels, which were so big I could only shuffle. Dress-up should be cute, interesting, daring - not suggestive.

This is what happens in a society ruled by corporations – they try to sell you things that you do not need, with money that you don’t have.
Buying, consuming, shopping – being environmentally conscious goes directly against the greed of companies since we are told to keep using stuff up, rather than re-using and not dishing out our cash in to begin with.
Your loonie is one of the most powerful things that you have – use a little restraint, and try not to feed our children ourselves with all of this junk that, no, does *not* make us happier.
