Or maybe because it's not, you know, rape-rape, it's ahahaha funny.
At least Whoopi choked on this one.

That was strange, maybe it was nervous/uncomfortable laughter because they didn't know how to follow "I was raped"? Sofia Vergara was laughing herself so maybe that threw them off a bit? Very strange.

The host didn't do the math, and exagerrated, speculating unwisely that's she'd had the baby at age twelve (actually, Sofia had the baby at age 20). Sofia, who looked nervous, unwisely tried to run with the "young mother" joke - which didn't leave a lot of room to improvise.
The audience gasped as well, and Barbara quickly steered to calmer waters.
