Fresh melons?

The bitch is back -- and she's feeling sour grapesy over this:

AFTER:

Did the iconic Sun-Maid girl get surgically plasticized? Some think so.

Nothing against updating a brand's packaging but this one looks like it also was ... uplifted.

(Last week in Jamaica, I lost count of how many boob jobs were filling out the bikinis. Sad.)

I think it's kind of ironic that Glamour mag, where this pix were sourced, makes similar points ... and then includes a link to this.

Oh and, while we're on the subject of what women do to themselves to meet the impossible standards of the fashion industry, this horror story:

A 38-year-old former Miss Argentina has died from complications after undergoing cosmetic surgery on her buttocks.

Solange Magnano, a mother of twins who won the crown in 1994, died of a pulmonary embolism Sunday after three days in critical condition following a gluteoplasty in Buenos Aires.

Close friend Roberto Piazza said the procedure involved injections and the liquid "went to her lungs and brain."

"A woman who had everything lost her life to have a slightly firmer behind," he said.

The new logo looks absolutely terrible. What's with the awful CGI look?

Notice too how people deride a woman who unintentionally gave her life for "firmer buttocks" yet are likely more than happy to propogate the myth of the "perfect" woman's body! Ughh!

Broadsides by Antonia Zerbisias

  • Antonia Zerbisias has been a Star columnist since 1989 but has been telling people what she thinks ever since she could open her mouth. Her career ambition as an opinionator dates back to Grade 9 when a cartoon commentary on a teacher resulted in her suspension from high school. The principal sent her home with a note calling her "rude, obstreperous and bold." Her parents were neither amused, nor surprised. Once she was punished for being that way. Now she makes it pay. And, because she can take it as well as dish it out, she wants to hear what you have to say. Fire away!
