Antonia Zerbisias has been a Star columnist since 1989 but has been telling people what she thinks ever since she could open her mouth. Her career ambition as an opinionator dates back to Grade 9 when a cartoon commentary on a teacher resulted in her suspension from high school. The principal sent her home with a note calling her "rude, obstreperous and bold." Her parents were neither amused, nor surprised. Once she was punished for being that way. Now she makes it pay. And, because she can take it as well as dish it out, she wants to hear what you have to say. Fire away!
The whole chapter is worth reading, but Genesis 1 is a better place to start than anywhere in Deuteronomy. Is it a pro-life person showing how far he or she has read through the bible so far? If so, I can see why the person is hiding behind the sign. I would too. It also occurred to me that it could be a pro-choice person reminding pro-lifers who take their bibles literally only — without reading from left to right and all the way through, like they do for Harry Potter — that maybe they should take inventory of the supposedly doomed females among their own sisters, wives, daughters, girlfriends, concubines, mothers, grandmothers, etc. I see the website link on the sign but to expect people to check out your website by simply quoting a bible verse is almost worse than expecting people to accept your invitation to a surprise Amway convention on the strength of their sudden and urgent concern for your financial future.

If that isn't a good reason to be an Atheist, than I don't know what is!

That's a terrible reason to be an atheist. :)
The point, to me, is that the "laws" of the bible were the religious and cultural laws of the day - they were not meant to be laws for all time, and trying to do so is stupid and ignorant.
The laws for all time are pretty simple and pretty universal - Love God. Love other people. Don't be a jerk.

Luna mo Run,
"the "laws" of the bible were the religious and cultural laws of the day - they were not meant to be laws for all time"
unlike the New Testament?
and what about a religion where the whole text was revealed in a short period, as a direct revelation, all of which is fixed and immutable, unlike some of the more obscure parts of the Old Testament, which seem to be quietly forgotten nowadays?
