In what the blogosphere had mistkenly pegged as the A7—a Mercedes CLS style coupe-that’s-not-a-coupe, based on the midsized Audi A6 sedan— Audi says its Sportback concept gives a strong clue to a hatchback A5 set to arrive some time this year.
The front end is an evolution of the current Audi look that’s been around now since Walter Da’ Silva penned the current A6; the back end is quite reminiscent of another Da’ Silva creation, Lambo’s Estoque (right) seen last fall in Paris.
More interesting maybe what’s under the Sportback’s hood: the 3.0-litre V6 TDI clean diesel that so far has only been signed off for the Q7 SUV.
Canadians should love this car. But what about hatchback phobic Yanks?
