2011 L.A. Show: Ford contrasts its mean with lots of green
LOS ANGELES - Contradictory in philosophy to its new, and more powerful 2013 Mustang GT (now 420 hp), and the “most powerful production V8 in the world” (the new 650 hp, 321 km/h-plus Shelby GT500), Ford had its trio of pure-electric and hybrid vehicles lined up in a tidy row, here in L.A.
In addition to the commercial-oriented 2012 Transit Connect Electric van, left, Ford is readying the launch in the U.S. later this year of its 2012 Focus Electric, above. Ford says its electrified Focus will offer a mile-per-gallon equivalent better than the Chevrolet Volt plug-in gas-electric hybrid, and take three to four hours at home with the 240-volt charge station—half the charge time of the Nissan Leaf EV.
Following the launch of the Focus Electric, Ford expects to launch its all-new C-Max mini-minivan, left, in 2012, available in hybrid and plug-in hybrid iterations.

The Mustang has been undergoing a myriad of changes since then. This time its about to go for more power and more control.
