2011 L.A. Show: Lexus drops a pair of new hybrids

LOS ANGELES -This being California, home of the largest group of hybrid car lovers, it only made sense for Toyota’s Lexus to launch a couple of gas-electric models at this year’s show.

 

First up is the hybrid version of the forthcoming 2013 Lexus GS mid-size luxury sports sedan.

 

Dubbed the GS 450h, above, the hybrid version of the also-new 2013 GS 350 and GS 350 F Sport V6 gas models Lexus says incorporates improvements to its hybrid powertrain and is equipped with a second generation Lexus Hybrid Drive system means a total system power output of 338 hp, 0-96 km/h acceleration in 5.6 seconds, and fuel consumption improved by more than 30 per cent over the outgoing model’s

 

DSC09577Lexus also showed off the new 2012 CT 200h F Sport, left.

 

With no additions in performance, the new trim level adds a sportier suspension and exterior and interior trim upgrades.
