The panda measures 11 inches (28 cm) from the base of his head to the tip of his tail. His overall length, from the tip of his nose to the tip of his tail, is approximately 20 inches (53cm). The new addition to the San Diego Zoo family has definitely gotten a warm welcome. The Zoo's facebook page has regular updates on the panda cub and is involving the public. They've given out the link to the "pandacam" for the public to see the cub being taken care of by its mother. The Zoo has also included the public in naming the cub. It's wonderful; allowing the public to get involved and have an inside look.

Almost instantly after stumbling upon the picture of this little fella, I needed to see more. It's wonderful the Zoo is involving people with helping choose a name. By doing this the San Diego Zoo almost makes you feel like you're part of their team and playing an active role in the community. I also noticed that if you like the San Diego Zoo Global page, the zoo will donate one dollar to help save the lives of endangered species. Great cause to help support this little guy and many others! Go like the page and tell your friends too. http://www.facebook.com/sdzglobal
