The Daily Beast - Monkey On the Loose at Ikea Store

A small monkey wearing a winter coat and a diaper apparently looks for it's owners at an IKEA in Toronto on Sunday Dec. 9, 2012. The monkey let itself out of its crate which was in a parked car and went for a walk.

I don't think I would have let that kid get so close to the monkey as see in that one picture. They can be unpredictable. The kid, I mean.

People should not keep monkeys, they are not meant to be pets.

This somehow seems cruel and unnatural.

"People should not keep monkeys, they are not meant to be pets."

I'm not sure ANY animals are "meant" to be kept as pets

What kind of owner does this? Just plain cruel.

put that monkey back to where it belongs and don'tlet it be lost in the city

Doubt he was dumped. More likely escaped and now the owners cannot claim him because it is illegal to own him. What a shame. He looks very well cared for so they must have loved him. He won't get that level in a zoo/sanctuary.

Cutest monkey ever! He looks like a little man in his suit and I want to snuggle him. :)

Justin Bieber was in North York?

These monkeys are extremely dangerous, and although he is a baby, carries significant public health risk in terms of disease transfer, especially if bred in the illegal pet trade industry. Good thing he/she was surrendered, this shouldn't be occurring in Toronto!

oh bebehhh monkey!!! sooo cute!

He should be returned to his rightful owner, who now would probably not take him shopping and leave him in a car. It is cruel to separate them at this point. As far as diseases are concerned, he is a pet and probably has not been exposed to the horrible diseases everyone is sugesting these monkeys carriey. I can not imagine after living in a home and loved to be put into a cage is very comforting to this PET
