Bonedigger is a 5-year-old male lion who was born with metabolic bone disease and could not walk. He was raised with a "pride" of Daschunds. They formed an unusual bond and became best friends – the dogs slept with him, ate out of his food bowl and played with him even though he could not walk.
They now live at the Exotic Animal Park <http://gwzoo.org/> in Wynnewood, Oklahoma - a non-profit park whose mission is to provide homes for abandoned, misplaced or abused animals. The park has rescued more than 1,400 animals and placed more than 1,200 in zoos and sanctuaries around the world.
The park was damaged in the recent Oklahoma tornadoes and floods.
Donations to the park can be made here.
