But enough about you.
In a brief post on HuffPost, the first he has written for Ms. Huffington, I believe, Edmund Morris, author of the botched authorized bio of Reagan, is - I think - quite chuffed that Obama is reading one of his tomes on T.R.:
An author’s first reaction to the news that the president of the United States is reading one of his books is, naturally enough, admiration for the man’s superb taste in prose...“I’m reading a biography of Teddy Roosevelt right now,” Obama said yesterday in Pennsylvania. Press Secretary Robert Gibbs confirmed tout de tweet that it’s my The Rise of Theodore Roosevelt...Appreciative as I am of Obama’s literary business (assuming he hasn’t thriftily borrowed that copy of Rise I donated to the White House library back in ’81)...The first thing Ronald Reagan ever said to me, when I became his authorized biographer in 1985...I’m flattered that Obama is reading The Rise of Theodore Roosevelt...But I’d respectfully suggest that he will learn more about the Rooseveltian executive style in the book’s sequel, Theodore Rex.
The California Superintendent of Corrections confirms that Charles Manson is reading one of my books, Political Babble: The 1,000 Dumbest Things Ever Said By Politicians. Excuse me while I post Huffington on the man's superb taste in prose.
