"Did she just say that out loud?"

From Slate's precis on the Beltway's current story of the day:

Sharron Angle Getty

When Fox News Channel's Carl Cameron asked [Sharron Angle, shown above] about her media strategy (which consists largely of avoiding the media), Angle said, 'We needed to have the press be our friend'. 'Wait a minute. Hold on a second. To be your friend?' an incredulous Cameron asked. 'That sounds naive.' 'Well, no', Angle responded. 'We wanted them to ask the questions we want to answer so that they report the news the way we want it to be reported.' Angle went on to complain that TV stations prevent her from mentioning her website or soliciting donations on the air. According to the transcript, Cameron's response was 'speechless' laughter. He's not the only one shaking his head. Fox ran video of the interview on their website with the very honest headline, 'Sharron Angle Too Honest in Latest Interview.' The [conservative] National Review wonders, 'Did She Just Say That Out Loud?' And even the [liberal] Washington Monthly's Steve Benen, who admits that 'I expect Angle to say insane things,' says'this is truly remarkable.'
