Spring is close indeed! Yesterday, I saw a fox wandering in broad daylight along my neighbour's 800 foot driveway - every so often looking over the shoulder of the gravel driveway for signs of mice or voles. Foxes are active during the whole of the winter (I see them pretty much every week) but this guy seemed to be bouncing in the sunshine that helped shift a lot more snow yesterday!

Hi MLC: I did not know there were mere "surrogate" friends among Matthew's kind, I imagine them all as kindred spirits. I hope M wasn't jealous at another of his species being showcased here instead of him, for I have heard he is a handsome fellow.
