A parent who does not speak English well should seek a tutor for the child, should they want to homeschool. The child does not need to visit the tutor every day for three hours, but it is a good idea to see one at least twice a week.

Home-schooling can be an excellent option for some children (including those with behavioral issues), not just as a "last resort," and the issues of curriculum and social interaction can be overcome. However, in this case I agree with the relative - it is likely not the best option for this child.

The parents (and the relative, if possible) should find out what is going on at school - why is the boy acting out? It may be due to problems with the teacher or classmates, or as a way to disguise difficulties he is having with the curriculum (or boredom, if he is bright). If a solution cannot be found with the school, perhaps the parents could consider putting the boy in an alternative or private school, after researching to find out if it is a better fit.
