Looking for a job?


The Star seeks candidates for several positions to assist in the generation and
production of content online and in print, and on mobile platforms, working on
various desks, possibly in rotation.

Skills and competencies required:

Work well under deadline pressure
superior news judgment, sense of fairness, identification of best angles
ability to find and generate top content for all media and platforms
superior judgment on photo selection, cropping, presentation
sound use of photoshop and other image enhancement software
ability to source and capture material online
superior copy editing, headline writing, understanding of SEO for online and print needs
ability to work visually, i.e. lay out pages, select photos, understand how to present
information in print and online
work well in teams, with strong communication skills and the ability to negotiate
with and organize others

    Staff would be assigned to various shifts including early morning and nights.
