Morning links, pret a porter edition:
Breaking down the Olympic numbers: I've always felt this to be true - Canada's women are No. 1 in the world (as for the men, Brad Gushue rocks on today, going for gold with all of Newfoundland and Labrador taking the afternoon off).
Nearly three months after its season was over (and three months before a new one begins), and in the middle of the Olympics, the CFL hands out its Coach of the Year award, otherwise known as Anyone but Pinball.
A few NBA trades on deadline day, but the big one overshadowing them all was Isiah Thomas's latest brainwave (Scottie Pippen's take on it -- "I'm pretty much befuddled by what New York has done" -- is sort of like a default setting with Isiah, isn't it?), pitched the day after as part of a high stakes play for Kevin Garnett (All together now: !?).
The yammering out of Wednesday's Chelsea-Barcelona continues, Lionel Messi lobbing back at Jose (The Incredible Sulk) Mourinho and the Blues staff reacting to referee-threatening messages on the club's website.

Do I even have to say anything about Zeke's latest move? And doesn't this speak volumes about Orlando's opinion of Francis that he's traded for Orlando's first malignant tumour and Trent Ariza (a 2nd rounder who was so far into Brown's dog house that Qytel Woods played in front of him. And please note the canine double entendre).
Four shoot first PGs (Crawford, Starbury and Franchise, Robinson) playing 2. Jalen handling the point. Ugh. No rebounders (I didn't even know Mo Taylor was still in the league) - Taylor, Frye, Curry, etc. And 3's who have one dimension (Q, Woods, Lee). This is a horrible chemistry experiment.
The big question: who goes first? Home town hero Larry Brown (and if he goes, he WILL get bought out and get paid even more money somewhere else) or Zeke (who obviously has pictures of Dolan in some compromising positions). Does LB pull a powerplay and get Zeke ousted or does LB walk because his team is a total boondoggle?

Should the Swedish curling team look back in embarrasment sometime down the road? I dunno. You have to admit though, they were probably the hottest women's curling team out there.
