Bad enough around here missing a day to weigh in about Wayne Rooney's gambling habits or Guus Hiddink figuring (to no surprise here) the England job is just a touch too high risk, low reward, as he's off to Russia, or anything else of note . . . even Phil Mickelson.
But this can't be ignored, news out of baseball's bushes that carries all the oomph and panache of a Mark Eichhorn fastball (thanks to Sidearm Delivery, via Can't Stop the Bleeding):
Even though the season hasn't really started yet, there's already been a big announcement-- Eddie Money will be appearing at the Eastern League All-Star Game in Altoona!
Eddie Money! In Altoona! This is the second time in less than a week that Eddie Money has come up in my life, after about 25 years of that worrisome alarm going unpulled. Which is how it works, I guess.
I don't mind this too much. But if Billy Squier comes back to sing the anthems at the Marlies' playoff opener, watch out.
