Well, the appetite for big-time soccer is *occasionally* there, anyway… The first few games of Real Salt Lake drew huge crowds but those petered out over the first season. 'Course, mebbe that's just 'cause the team kept losing... ;-)

Macca has pandered to the morons by dropping Becks... a case could be made in suggesting that he wanted the young players to feel some distance from the old regime but actually, Macca is simply seeking favour from the press... and exploiting Beckham to do so. That said, Becks wouldn't start in my England first 11... not with Lennon around...
