Happy Birthday Chris! It's been great having you "Big Media" guys swim around in the blogosphere with the rest of us. ;)

Can't believe there aren't any comments on this bit of nostalgia. I rank that 87 foldo of the Jays as the worst moment in my history as a sporting fan.
That loss was tough to take. That race took a lot out of both teams, Detroit didn't have much left going up against Minnesota that year. The Jays GM Pat Gillick figured changes were coming but he wasn't going to blow the whole thing up. So he tinkered away over the next few years and made probably the best trade in Jays history (Alomar+Carter for Fernandez+McGriff). Devon White for Junior Felix was pretty darn good as well.
Those trades brought the two best sporting moments in Jays history -- the Triple play in the World Series that was missed by the umpiring crew in 92, and the "Touch them all, Joe, you won't hit any bigger" in 93.
