Sitting here at the Detroit Auto Show, awaiting the announcement of the winners of the North American Car And Truck of the Year awards.
These are chosen by a group of about 50 journalists from Canada (including yours truly) and the US.
The finalists for Truck are: Dodge Ram, Ford F-150, and Mercedes-Benz ML350 BlueTec.
And the winner is: the Ford F-150. Slam-dunk, actually.
The finalists for Car are: Ford Flex, Hyundai Genesis, and Volkswagen Jetta TDI.
And the winner is: Hyundai Genesis. Another slam dunk, actually.
BTW, when was the last time there wasn't a single Japanese-branded finalist in either category?
