The royalty system is magic.

Every time a piece of music that you 'own' is played anywhere in the world, "Ka-CHING"!

I read somewhere that Gene Maclellan's estate still gets six figures every year for 'Snowbird".

What's this got to do with cars?

Just that I wonder every time I hear the warning chime in a BMW whether Burton Cummings and Randy Bachman get royalties.

Is that not the first chord of their hit song "Laughing"?

Once heard that the three tones that the TTC uses are the first three from the Sesame Street theme. Don't know if they had to license or not.
