Looks like we may have found a way around the entirely pointless hands-free cell phone law now in effect in Ontario. From my interpretation of the wording of the thing, all you have to do is to have your passenger hold the phone next to your ear so you can carry on your conversation. This therefore leaves your 'hands free' to drive - or, drink your coffee, eat your cereal or go through your vacation photographs, none of which appear to be proscribed by this inane legislation.
The other day I was riding with a friend who was showing off his new iPhone. It was mounted in a cigarette lighter bracket where he used to mount his iPod and running a GPS app while playing tunes. However, there were dozens of other apps available at the touch of a finger, most of them far more distracting than merely talking on the phone. I believe a monster has been created.

Sounds like somebody got a ticket.
To save yourself further embarrassment, don't bring up that excuse in court.

Have you seen this, Jim? It's hard to watch but hugely powerful:

one small correction; it's not the law that's stupid, it's the people.
