This past October at the Paris Auto Show, I found myself talking with an Information Technology expert for Ford of France in their Media Centre.
I said to him, "The TypePad blogging software I use on my wireless netbook computer automatically posts my blogs to my Twitter account and my Facebook page.
"But the TypePad blogging app for my I4 iPhone only posts them to my Twitter account, NOT to my Facebook page.
"Do you know how I can fix that?"
And as the words were leaving my lips, I thought to myself, "Six months ago, I wouldn't have understood a single syllable of what I just said..."
As it turned out, he did not know how to fix that - if any of you do, please clue me in!
But it did show how times have changed in the news reporting game.
I haven't always been as diligent at this blogging thing as (a) I should have been, and (b my editor wishes I was.
Let's call it a work in progress.
At or near the top of my New Year's Revolutions for 2011 is going to be an attempt to be more regular with my blogging posts, and to respond more quickly to your comments. I do enjoy doing this, we seem to have had some fun with some back-and-forthing with you, the readers, which is what this is supposed to be all about.
So, have patience and I'll try to be better in the coming year!
And speaking of changing times, my keyboard player's wife sent me this link.
Hope you enjoy it.
So, Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah, Joyous Solstice, Festive Ramadan, Kool Kwanza - whatever celebration winds your watch, make it a good, happy and safe one.
And a merry Christmas to you and the rest of the gang at Motoring, with thanks for all this year's straight talk from the corner.
