At the launch of the 458 Italia Coupe, Ferrari predictably denied there was ever any intention of producing a convertible version.

Here it is, in those horrible Photoshopped-to-within-an-inch-of-their-lives studio shots that all car manufacturers seem to insist on:
Not even Photoshop can detract from how gorgeous this thing is.
I am already on record, several times, as saying the 458 Coupe is the best car I have ever driven.
The Spider, scheduled for public reveal at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, will probably be a couple of kg heavier, and maybe lose a degree or two of torsional rigidity compared to the Coupe.
But with the motorized folding aluminum roof down, wouldn't the wind in your hair be worth it?
Can't wait to find out for myself.
