Wrong Wrong Wrong!. Geez I expect better from you Jim

The gas motor in the Volt DOES NOT recharge the battery. It supplies power to run the electric motors when the battery is depleted. The only way the battery is recharged is through either regen braking or through the plug-in connection, FYI.
