Add 25 kg to a sports car and reduce its structural rigidity by 30 percent - how can that make it better?
If you start with a Ferrari 458 Italia coupe is how.
And while a 30 percent reduction in rigidity isn't the direction you'd like to go, the 458 Coupe is so very stout, the Spider is still pretty good.
Maybe a bigger differential than between the open Porsche Boxster and its coupe brother the Cayman, but still good.
It goes like stink, steers almost as well as the Coupe, rides amazingly well thanks to the Delco magneto-rheological fluid dampers, and sounds terrific.
There's even a remarkable amount of luggage space.
What's not to like, apart from the $200,000-plus price tag?
More details in Wheels a week from this Saturday.
