I'm sorry these pics look so bad - it was at night, on my way to catch the red-eye home from a Porsche preview.
Walking through the parking lot of Los Angeles International I spotted this EV ONLY parking lot, with maybe ten slots, each with a charging station.
A couple of Chevy Volts, a Nissan Leaf, a Toyota RAV4 and a Tesla roadster.
(Does this answer the question whether Volt really is an 'electric' car? The LA Airport apparently believes so.)
The rest of the slots were empty.
Each slot had a charger, but for whatever reason, only the RAV4 was plugged in.
There also didn't seem to be any way to pay for the charging.
So, is this what it will take to get people into electrics? Free parking and free charging?
Based on an admittedly VERY small sampling, it doesn't look like it's working, even in Los Angeles...
