How could I have forgotten 'Plum Crazy'? It was a Chrysler colour back in the late '60s - early '70s, above on a 1970 Dodge Challenger. It was resurrected for the new-generation Challenger in 2009. Why should I not have forgotten Plum Crazy? Because that was the colour I painted my race car - a 1964 Austin Mini Cooper 997 - in its second year of racing. That was (a) before I upgraded it to a 1293 Cooper S, and (b) before I wrapped it up into a tight little ball at Turn Nine at Mosport. Wish I had a decent photo of that car, before or after the crash. But I digress... Among some of the other great ChryCo paint names: Sublime Go Mango Sassy Grass In Violet Tor-Red Ford apparently had some classics other than 'Thanks Vermillion', including: Original Cinnamon Bring 'Em Back Olive Three-Putt Green Last Stand Custard There She Blue Good Clean Fawn History Onyx (that one took me a while...) There have also been many suggested over the years which didn't make the cut, most of which I cannot mention in a family newspaper/blog. But how about: Gang Green In The Buff What A Maroon I Cannot Tell a Lilac And one with some social commentary: Augusta National Country Club Membership White And a favourite of car reviewers everywhere: Arrest Me Red
