In doing so, I saved 5 pounds per tire...<p>I happily ditched the run flats on my 3 series BMW. In doing so, I saved 5 pounds per tire of unsprung weight, which is the best type of weight to save. I am only too happy to have gained more than 20 pounds back when carrying a spare around. My car rides much better. The tires also stay connected to the ground much better on bad pavement in corners, something we see a lot of here in Ontario. Go flats are much cheaper than run flats too.</p>
