Go Leafs Go contest inspires creativity
John Fornear was enjoying a cup of coffee and his Saturday Star when he stumbled upon our Maple Leafs contest.
A chance to win playoff tickets? Simply submit a creative picture of yourself with our Go Leafs Go banner? That’s it!?
“We knew we had to do something over the top,” Fornear said Monday. “My daughter came up with the idea of covering our car in posters.”
Fornear said it took hundreds of posters, and cost at least $200 in ink, to get the job done, but it was definitely worth it.
“We had fun, and the neighbours we just rolling over laughing,” he said.
Fornear papered his Ford Edge SUV with posters on Saturday, drove it around his street, and kept the posters on until it rained Sunday.
He tries to see at least one Leafs game with his daughter Victoria, 11, per season and this is his chance to see one this year.
“Boston has slapped us around a little bit, but we’re going to win and go deep into the playoffs,” said Fornear.
I’ll be looking over the hundreds of photos readers are sending in and featuring some of the best at our Leafs fan blog, Bleeding Blue.
I’ll then help pick the winners, who will receive tickets to the first Leafs playoff game against Boston at the Air Canada Centre.
Try to outdo Fornear. I dare you. Go Leafs Go. Cheers.
