Mayor Rob Ford declares May 6 "Blue and White Day"
Here’s further proof of the power Leafs Nation has over this city.
Mayor Rob Ford has just declared May 6, when the Leafs will host the Bruins at the Air Canada Centre for game three, “Blue and White Day.”
“At the heart of the greatest hockey market in the world, Toronto Maple Leafs fans bleed blue and white,” Ford said in a declaration.
“It is time for new memories to be made, heroes to emerge and fans to unite,” he said.
“NOW THEREFORE, I, Mayor Rob Ford, on behalf of Toronto City Council, do hereby proclaim May 6, 2013 as “Blue and White Day” and encourage everyone to wear blue and white to support our Toronto Maple Leafs in their quest for the Stanley cup.”
Not that Leafs Nation wasn’t going to do so already, but good on Ford.
Go Leafs Go. Cheers.
