Good idea putting up a new thread. Good luck vibes on this one.
Go Leafs Go! Will arrive late as usual. Hopefully that will be good luck tonight!
Come on everyone! Positive thoughts!
VM Replies: Sue! Yes, that picture was one of the highlights this season. Let's do this, Leafers.

Only one song tonight, but for me it pretty much describes monsieur Wilson.

VM Replies: Awesome. Your musical tastes are truly eclectic.

Hey Hoof, once again our comments on the previous thread were in sync. Now join me cheering the bastards on.The van is running pretty good and the 8-track is blasting. If any of you are with me,hop aboard.Get the hell out of the way,Moe.
GO LEAFS GO!!

Lawd Jesus...I can't watch them interviewing Kabs and hearing him say he'd still be here if they'd offered him a contract. Something about the steadfastness of this man's loyalty just tears at my soul. He's like a puppy with big blue eyes. I know this is traitorous of me (to both Vancouver and Toronto - my two teams) but I'd love nothing more than to see him win a cup. I'm going to start dusting, so I'll have a ready excuse when the waterworks start.
Posted by: Boo Who? | 03/19/2011 at 07:02 PM
@hoof / TimB - Evening boys! Here for a bit but then have to get small person to bed but will be back by second period. Always have one eye on the tv though!
Glad to hear the van is running TimB! I'm in!
Posted by: Sue | 03/19/2011 at 07:03 PM
Here it is. Kaberle's return in what may turn out to be a meaningful game for the Leafs if the Sabres and Canes cooperate. Yay Kabs. Hope he scores a hat-trick in the loss. Poor guy hasn't scored since he arrived in Boston. wtf? Boo hoo. Still I hope he scores the goal that brings the Bruins to within four goals tonight. You are a class act Kaberle. Resign him in the off-season Burkey!
VM Replies: Did you hear him laugh when asked about his relationship with Wilson?
Posted by: moe green | 03/19/2011 at 07:05 PM
LEAFS!
also VM, Hoofheartz, I prefer this song:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9IfHDi-2EA
for the game. :D
Posted by: Tom | 03/19/2011 at 07:09 PM
All right you MAGNIFICENT BASTARDS don't let us down.
Posted by: hoofheartz | 03/19/2011 at 07:09 PM
Knew we could count on you Sue. And Hoof I would have bet I knew what your song had to be.I remember driving along at night with Radar Love blaring.Memories,memories.....
Posted by: TimB | 03/19/2011 at 07:09 PM
No I missed that Vinay I would pay to see the clip though.
VM Replies: I'll try to see if there's a clip during the intermission. He's a classy guy. He took the high road. But his momentary, involuntary laugh said it all.
Posted by: moe green | 03/19/2011 at 07:11 PM
Howie Meeker and his Telestrator.I feel so old.
Posted by: TimB | 03/19/2011 at 07:16 PM
I know Boo. I still miss the guy. I mean how rare is it to have any player who wants to finish his career with a team? Especially this team! I can't go as far as to wish him a cup Boolette but i hope he's a star wherever he goes.
Posted by: moe green | 03/19/2011 at 07:17 PM
I love Howie Squeeker!
VM Replies: oakville_girl!
Posted by: oakville_girl | 03/19/2011 at 07:18 PM
Damn. Buffalo has already scored, 24 seconds into their game.
Posted by: Vinay Menon | 03/19/2011 at 07:24 PM
Howie Meeker is pure Canada.
Posted by: moe green | 03/19/2011 at 07:25 PM
Hey gang, one more Leaf Lady checking in, albeit intermittantly (sorry, in-laws are over). Didn't want to miss Kabby's return (nice touch allowing him to do opening face off dontcha think?). Might not be around till after game so Sue & Boo, keep these guys in line while I'm busy with the 'out-laws'. Leafs 4-3 in regulation BTW. GO LEAFS GO!!
VM Replies: We are in our assigned seats, Lainey. Have fun with the in-laws.
Posted by: LaineyTML12 | 03/19/2011 at 07:25 PM
Kessel's moving tonight. GO LEAFS!
VM Replies: All the Leaf Ladies are here. This has to be good luck.
Posted by: enJoy hockey | 03/19/2011 at 07:28 PM
This really stinks. Buffalo scored. Why Leafs why? If they win this they could actually lose ground. Sickening. Star the "thank you Boston" chant Alecia once we have a two-goal lead!
Posted by: moe green | 03/19/2011 at 07:28 PM
Oh goodie. A powerplay. We're just excellent at those.
@moelette - we will just have to agree to disagree for the sake of our relationship. Because I ain't never gonna cheer for the Habs, no way, no how.
VM Replies: Moelette? I love when you crazy kids start with the pet names.
Posted by: Boo Who? | 03/19/2011 at 07:29 PM
Don't these boys look a little calmer playing in front of Reimer? I think that I feel calmer with Reimer in net....
Posted by: oakville_girl | 03/19/2011 at 07:31 PM
LUUUUUUUUKE!! Good job, baby boy!!!
Posted by: Boo Who? | 03/19/2011 at 07:34 PM
No feed but sounds like Schenn scored one of his patented specials.
VM Replies: No feed? What??? Boo, what are you watching?
Posted by: moe green | 03/19/2011 at 07:34 PM
I think I'm a little in love with Luke. Bobby Orr is up in the boxes, I think Luke was channelling him a little bit on that goal...
And by the way, that's the first goal in 10 games!! Yeah boys!
VM Replies: We just left identical comments at the exact same time. Weirdness.
Posted by: oakville_girl | 03/19/2011 at 07:34 PM
Wow. Schenn channeling Bobby Orr on that opening goal. 1-0 Good Leafs.
Posted by: Vinay Menon | 03/19/2011 at 07:35 PM
SCHENN!! You should do that more often. Kind of looked phaneuffy.
Posted by: enJoy hockey | 03/19/2011 at 07:36 PM
@vinay It's the supermoon tonight - everything's going to be a little weird tonight
Posted by: oakville_girl | 03/19/2011 at 07:38 PM
They cut to commercial during the video tribute for Kaberle?? What monkeys are working at the CBC tonight?
Aaaand, we're tied. Bummer.
Posted by: Boo Who? | 03/19/2011 at 07:40 PM
GREAT BRYAN MCCABE'S GHOST!!!
Posted by: nugentmania | 03/19/2011 at 07:41 PM
Yay! Now watch the nasty little bastard explode.
Posted by: moe green | 03/19/2011 at 07:41 PM
Nicely done Kadri!!! (And Boyce and Crabb for hightailing it outta the way.)
Posted by: Boo Who? | 03/19/2011 at 07:43 PM
I believe it is the Leaf Ladies Club that is bringing good luck tonight.
Lainey - keep checking in. Will keep your seat warm.
Boo - where are you!?!?!?!?
Keep it going!!!!
Posted by: Sue | 03/19/2011 at 07:43 PM
It's a goal!! Khadri, first of many we hope. The bastards are flying tonight. I'm new here watching from Bermuda on a little TV in my hotel room.
VM Replies: Welcome, HatterMike! Bermuda? SuperMoon? Schenn/Orr? Kadri's first goal?
This night is freaking me out and it's not even 8 yet.
Posted by: HatterMike | 03/19/2011 at 07:44 PM
See - Supermoon = Weirdness
It's going to be a crazy bounce kind of night
Posted by: oakville_girl | 03/19/2011 at 07:44 PM
Oops, "phaneuffy" may not be a good look. I'll bet he plays hard now.
KADRI!! My head is spinning.
Posted by: enJoy hockey | 03/19/2011 at 07:45 PM
Oh man I hate this. The Radio announcers have that "it's over so let's have a bit of fun" tone in their voices.
Posted by: moe green | 03/19/2011 at 07:47 PM
Welcome Mike!
I have family in Bermuda, and I visit every year. It's a lovely place. If you're there for a while, Flanagan's pub will often have the Leafs game on, as there are lots of Canadian ex-pats in Bermy. Enjoy your stay (and bless your Leafy dedication).
I'm here Sue!
This is a weird day; fitting end to a very weird week, VM - Supermoon madness!
VM Replies: I had no idea about this supermoon when I picked the lead photo yesterday, which is also freaking me out.
Posted by: Boo Who? | 03/19/2011 at 07:54 PM
Go Leaf-ladies go! Leaf-ettes? Leaflets?
VM Replies: I like Leafettes. And Alecia is at the game.
Posted by: moe green | 03/19/2011 at 07:55 PM
Theeeeere Baaaack.
Posted by: TimB | 03/19/2011 at 07:58 PM
Slipping out for a bit. Ladies, maintain the lead!
Posted by: enJoy hockey | 03/19/2011 at 07:58 PM
Just checked Twitter...wow Damien Cox is in rare form today. He's called Leafs fans 'idiotic' and 'suckers' in the span of 20 minutes. Any insight as to why he's such a hater VM? Or is he just sick of dealing with the unwashed Leafy masses?
VM Replies: I was going to send him an email. I almost thought his account had been hacked and someone was sending out deliberately provocative tweets.
No, don't know what he's thinking right now or why.
Posted by: Boo Who? | 03/19/2011 at 08:00 PM
I think there needs to be a Don Cherry drinking game. Every time he says "I told you so" or words to those effect like he's saying tonight, we all take a drink. How soon do you think we'll be drunk?
I know he has a point though
Posted by: oakville_girl | 03/19/2011 at 08:03 PM
Thanks Boo. You're right. Bermuda today was perfect... mild temperatures and sunny, loads of pretty flowers and smiles from everyone. Of course it gets hot and humid later but get it while you can, I figure.
Flangans just reopened after renos just in time for St. Pat's day... go figure.
I'm on a contract popping back and forward between Bermuda and TO. Exciting game so far. The boys look much more committed.
Posted by: HatterMike | 03/19/2011 at 08:03 PM
@ VM - Yeah I thought it was really odd. This is way over and above his usual sunshiny self.
Posted by: Boo Who? | 03/19/2011 at 08:05 PM
@boohoo - Damien was a close friend of a close friend of my ex-husband.(I now - 6 degrees of separation, sort of) I remember sitting at dinner parties with him, and going WTF to most of what he had to say. He was a blowhard then, and not much has changed. Sorry, I know it's not nice to speak badly of someone, but I have to admit I can't read most of what he writes, he just puts my teeth on edge.
Posted by: oakville_girl | 03/19/2011 at 08:07 PM
Ahhhhh Bermy. It's a rare sunny(ish) day in Vancouver, but it's only ten degrees, and where I come from, that's still too bloody cold. I'm bundling up and heading out later on though, dangit.
Be careful on your scooter (if you have one) and be sure to nod at or greet everyone. I credit my Bermudian genes with making me the affable soul that I am, their manners are second to none!
The ice actually looked tilted in our favour for a good while there! Wish we had a supermoon every night.
Posted by: Boo Who? | 03/19/2011 at 08:14 PM
Beautiful save by Reimer!!! Return of the Jedi!!!
Posted by: Boo Who? | 03/19/2011 at 08:16 PM
anyone got a good feed tonight - any feed actually
Posted by: moe green | 03/19/2011 at 08:19 PM
Okay, no feed I'm waxing my car. See you for the third.
VM Replies: No feed? Really? Supermoon!
Posted by: moe green | 03/19/2011 at 08:20 PM
Was it you who dubbed him "Yoda" Boo? I like Yoda. It suits him.
Posted by: moe green | 03/19/2011 at 08:20 PM
@ oakville_girl - Not too surprised he's like that in real life - hard to fake that kind of intensity. I have a knack for getting along with extremely grouchy or badly behaved people, as I usually find myself liking them for being so damn entertaining. But...I like almost everyone, come to think of it.
There is a big difference between being gruff and opinionated and being mean-spirited, however. People that are nasty for the sake of being nasty - I really, really dislike them.
Posted by: Boo Who? | 03/19/2011 at 08:24 PM
@ Moe - try this for a feed?
http://www.vipstand.me/watch/24377/1/nhl:-boston-bruins-vs.-toronto-maple-leafs.html
I'm watching on CBC, but that site usually has reliable feeds.
I can't remember if it was Jiggy or Reimer I dubbed Yoda? But Reimer is a Jedi, no question. The Force is strong with this one.
Posted by: Boo Who? | 03/19/2011 at 08:28 PM
GOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!
Posted by: oakville_girl | 03/19/2011 at 08:28 PM
We have driven Thomas from his net?!! WHAT?!!! Crabb?? Brown?? YES!!!
Posted by: Boo Who? | 03/19/2011 at 08:30 PM
I swear to God .... I just sat down on the couch and the Leafs score two in seconds again!!!!
Not sure how many seconds that was! In shock!
Will leave the room again shortly and come back in and perhaps they will score two more!
VM Replies: This is a crazy night. 4-1.
Posted by: Sue | 03/19/2011 at 08:30 PM
@boo I think you and I would get along really well IRL. I do try to get along with everyone, but my kids tell me I have a "look" when I've had enough. LOL
Posted by: oakville_girl | 03/19/2011 at 08:34 PM
On the downside, it's now 5-2 Buffalo.
Posted by: Vinay Menon | 03/19/2011 at 08:35 PM
@Sue! Get up and sit down again!
Posted by: oakville_girl | 03/19/2011 at 08:35 PM
Who's our first line again???
Posted by: TimB | 03/19/2011 at 08:42 PM
Back again. 4-1!!!? Good maintaining, ladies!
The Supermoon over Colpoy's Bay was fantastic. If this weren't such a good game, I'd go watch the moon.
Posted by: enJoy hockey | 03/19/2011 at 08:42 PM
What did they feed the baby Leafs tonight? Crabbe, Khadri, Brown, Aulie. Maybe the Leafs are werewolves, and the moon has brought out their strength? Just saying..
Posted by: oakville_girl | 03/19/2011 at 08:46 PM
Just caught up on comments. Bobby Orr? Only if he can do that game after game after game. God, Orr could skate!
AULIE!! I said that moon was fantastic!
Posted by: enJoy hockey | 03/19/2011 at 08:48 PM
LEAFS LEAFS LEAFS LEAFS LEAFS
:D
VM Replies: Tom! So great to hear from you, sir.
Posted by: Tom | 03/19/2011 at 08:50 PM
Damn the doubters! I'm having a ball tonight! Can I get a witness?
VM Replies: It's the Supermoon. What else could it be? This isn't even the Good Leafs -- it's the Super Leafs.
Posted by: TimB | 03/19/2011 at 08:52 PM
happy happy 5-1, reimer is back, energy and confidence is back, we are beating bruins solid and hard, go leaf go leaf.
Posted by: leaf cheung | 03/19/2011 at 08:55 PM
@ oakville_girl - I think we would too. If there is ever a Toronto meet-up for ALF B'ers, I'm flying out for it! Or else I'm organizing one next time I'm there. :)
I am pretty laid back IRL, but I do not suffer fools gladly. No one ever really has to wonder where they stand with me, as I'm either friendly to you or I ignore you. And I'm honest almost to a fault, so insincerity and BS really rub me the wrong way. And bullies! My God, I have been a tiny lone crusader against bullies since I was a wee girl. You wanna see me get mad? Start picking on someone in front of me. I can and will tell off anyone in those situations - my mom is fond of recounting how at age 15, I told off an immigration officer that was being extremely rude to this frightened looking family while I was waiting to get my first Canadian visa - much to her everlasting mortification. (Way less dramatic than it sounds. All I managed to get out was "There's no need to speak to these people that way!" before my mother shushed me, ha ha! He did shut right up though.)
Posted by: Boo Who? | 03/19/2011 at 09:04 PM
Are we really up 5-1
VM Replies: Who can say? Who can really confirm we are witnessing this?
Posted by: Ken Baumgartner | 03/19/2011 at 09:06 PM
Leaf Cheung!!! Welcome our latest Bud!!
I am loving this game TimB. Is there a sunroof on this van? I wanna cause a bit of ruckus while we drive.
Posted by: Boo Who? | 03/19/2011 at 09:06 PM
I believe that it is the "Leafettes" that are bringing the good luck vibes tonight because there are soooo many of us! Can you imagine what next season will be like with all of us there at the start!?!?!?
Where is PP tonight? I miss him!
VM Replies: The Leafettes! We are all so grateful for the Leafettes.
It's early morning in Shanghai, where PP is teaching.
Posted by: Sue | 03/19/2011 at 09:12 PM
@Boo - why am I not surprised that you would be the one to cause a ruckus!?!?!?
Posted by: Sue | 03/19/2011 at 09:20 PM
One question, did we score the first goal?
VM Replies: Yes, spectacular goal by Schenn. First time they've scored opening goal in 10 games.
Posted by: Ken Baumgartner | 03/19/2011 at 09:23 PM
Well bless his heart then, he'll be glad to hear the result.
Posted by: Ken Baumgartner | 03/19/2011 at 09:25 PM
The Leafy-boys didn't like the coffin! VM, you'll have to write the Resurrection column now.
VM Replies: You just made me laugh. I could almost use the coffin metaphor in every post at this point.
Posted by: enJoy hockey | 03/19/2011 at 09:29 PM
@Moe - you are welcome to join the Leafettes if you like?
@Boo - We would have a ball if there was an ALF B meeting in Toronto! You would definately have to fly in. I will save the seat beside me for you!
VM - any chance of an ALF B get together? What do you think? You could be the Chairman!
@oakville_girl - been up a down a few times. Not working but we have a great lead i am thinking it may not be necessary!
Posted by: Sue | 03/19/2011 at 09:30 PM
I am in Quebec at the Karate Canada National Championships watching my nephew compete for the National team, so I am a little out of touch.
Oh Phaneuf has just turned his game up a notch!
Posted by: Ken Baumgartner | 03/19/2011 at 09:31 PM
Cover your eyes moe - there's been a scrap. Phaneuf and Horton. Bruin blood on the ice. Most eeeexcellent, muahahaha.
VM Replies: The CBC crew is saying Dion should have skated away from that one. I must respectfully disagree. That was an important fight for the captain to accept and he handled himself pretty well.
Posted by: Boo Who? | 03/19/2011 at 09:33 PM
took a little break and went down to see the moon at the lake. I'm on delay now watching the game, so glad I didn't see any spoilers when I came back on.
@boo - "suffer fools gladly" I was thinking that when I wrote my message last time, and you said it! Yes, I think we will get along spectacularly.
Posted by: oakville_girl | 03/19/2011 at 09:36 PM
@ Sue - aw shucks, thanks. I am actually meeting TG77 later on for a reunion of the ALF B Vancouver chapter. Us ALF B'ers, we're good people. :)
Posted by: Boo Who? | 03/19/2011 at 09:36 PM
@KenB - hope your nephew does well. Nice to see you jump in here for a bit anyway. I know you are thinking positively tonight and it is working.
Posted by: Sue | 03/19/2011 at 09:38 PM
8-2 Buffalo? Darn moon.
Posted by: enJoy hockey | 03/19/2011 at 09:41 PM
Hey where am I? How'd I get here?
VM Replies: Wormhole?
Posted by: Davey Keon | 03/19/2011 at 09:42 PM
Hey Folks, allow me to introduce my brother Davey Keon.
His son is competing for the National team.
VM Replies: Ah, welcome Mr. Keon! I can't believe we get to meet Bomber's brother tonight.
Why can't there be a supermoon every night?
Posted by: Ken Baumgartner | 03/19/2011 at 09:43 PM
All I can say is WHOOOOOOOO!
Goodnight folks! Until Tuesday!
VM Replies: Goodnight, Sue. Thanks for taking control of the booth this evening.
Posted by: Sue | 03/19/2011 at 09:45 PM
What's a worm hole?
VM Replies: Ask your brother.
Posted by: Davey Keon | 03/19/2011 at 09:47 PM
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Thanks Leafettes, you rock. You do too Leafers! Later my lovelies!!
Posted by: Boo Who? | 03/19/2011 at 09:48 PM
OK. Go for it Boo,but I don't want to end up on an episode of "Serve and Protect"And VM the CBC crew should just go home do their nails. Please tell me even with all the Leafettes I can still make stereotypical, politically incorrect comments. WOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
VM Replies: We may need to upgrade the 8-track to a Bose 16-speaker system.
Posted by: TimB | 03/19/2011 at 09:53 PM
2 Saturday night wins in a row! It seems as though the Boston curse is broken. Let's get wild on Tuesday night! Looking forward to another great post Vinay!
VM Replies: You see? When you're in the booth, they win. Goodnight, oakville_girl.
Posted by: oakville_girl | 03/19/2011 at 09:54 PM
Did Kadri score?
VM Replies: Yes. His first career goal.
Posted by: Ken Baumgartner | 03/19/2011 at 09:57 PM
Good night guys and Leafettes and Bomber's brother and Aki Berg wherever you are.
VM Replies: Goodnight, TimB.
Posted by: TimB | 03/19/2011 at 10:02 PM
WOW, there was a lot of goodness in this game tonight. Aulie scored a beauty and Phaneuf is starting to dominate. That is a most promising sign.
Posted by: Ken Baumgartner | 03/19/2011 at 10:04 PM
TimB. You must have been driving on two wheels tonight - smoke and rubber everywhere. What kind of gas are you using? These guys haven't been this quick in weeks.
James, not King James, he's just a commoner like the rest of us, was fabulous, and the rest of the boys were on helium or something. End to end for Schenn!
A team effort.
Gas her up full Tim, we are going for the finish line!
VM Replies: Robert, as the official watcher of skies and stars, you should have warned us about this supermoon.
Posted by: Robert | 03/19/2011 at 10:05 PM
Well VM... top-of-the-evening to you, and to Leaf's fans, especially the doubters.
Uhh- just got back from the game... not at ACC
Best of what I can impart is... perhaps to you Vinay, who aptly said it best...
"You win...
Twice."
Life's good.
VM Replies: I was thinking about you as both of your teams built insurmountable leads.
Posted by: maxwelledison | 03/19/2011 at 10:18 PM
Supermoon musta got too close and bonked Chara on the head tonight.
VM Replies: Oh, man. Comment of The Day.
Posted by: 80s Leafs | 03/19/2011 at 10:20 PM
Great game Leafs! Thanks for helping out! Maybe the Habs can return the favour by beating Buffalo Tuesday.
VM Replies: Good evening to you, Phil.
Posted by: Phil | 03/19/2011 at 10:35 PM
As post script... before I become one...
Now all we need is 'Canes, Rangers, and okay, Chara too... to just go away!
Oh... and to 80's Leafs...
The moon is not disturbed, by the barking of dogs!
Posted by: maxwelledison | 03/19/2011 at 10:42 PM
Hey gang, dang in-laws just left and I missed most of the highlights and hijinks. But I was definitely with you in spirit! Just caught up with all the posts and wish I was with my 'buds' here instead of... well... you know.
Monday is another day (night), and I'm positive they will ride the momentum of tonight into next week. Sleep well Leafettes and boys.
p.s. I'm all for an ALF B Toronto Chapter meeting. VM?
VM Replies: I hope you had fun with the in-laws. We placed your screen name near a burning candle and tossed confetti at the shrine after every goal.
Yes, definitely: An ALF B meet-up, perhaps this summer, is something that must happen. The Vancouver Chapter is now meeting regularly. The Maritime Chapter is planning its first summit.
Toronto has to keep pace.
Posted by: LaineyTML12 | 03/19/2011 at 10:53 PM
Ok, I think I've learned my lesson. Unless I'm actually at the game, apparently I can't watch the game. Watched parts of the Florida & Tampa Bay games. Didn't watch either of the Carolina or Boston games.
Must find some other way to keep busy. At least it saves me from chewing off my nails and pulling out (the remains of) my hair.
VM Replies: Is it now you? Every month this season, someone has come forward to make a jinx confession.
If you see a van in the next few days, no hard feelings. We just need to keep you in an abandoned factory for the next 9 games.
Posted by: red5 | 03/19/2011 at 10:59 PM
So.......... what just happened?
VM Replies: That is a very good question.
Posted by: Alecia | 03/19/2011 at 11:24 PM
I thought we were in the coffin... yet this might qualify as one of the best games I've been to all season.
Vinay, season tickets?
