Great to have you back. Any news on the doggie front yet?

I'm very glad to hear about Angela.....I will keep my fingers crossed that all keeps going as well as it can. People sometimes expect that recovery from depression means being instantly happy again, but it doesn't. It means caring about and being engaged in life again - even if life is happening to suck a lot at that particular moment in time. It's a lesson I'm trying to remember myself.

I've found this study in ECT to be very informative. Like many people, I was somewhat suspicious of the ability of ECT to help, while not doing any damage. It sounds like in this case, at least so far, it's doing exactly that.

Hi Julie,

I'm writing this at 7:38 p.m. on Thursday, March 11.

How lovely to know you're happy to have me back. It's been a little quiet this week, except for you.

Thank you for writing.

First, no news on Lucy. I will not know for another two and a half weeks. The only discernible difference I think I'm seeing is that she's peeing a lot more when I take her out for a walk. Riley, my male and a Canadian champion, who is intact, marks every lamp post, tree trunk, fire hydrant and rock. Normally, she does not. Now she is following his lead.

Now, for Angela. I have a big surprise about her ECT but I'm going to post about it tomorrow. Needless to say, she's fine. She has excellent doctors and the hospital where she's being given her ECT is one of the best in the country. She is also very pleased with the way she is being treated by everyone – with respect and kindness all the way along the line.

I'm afraid there is more irrational fear and ignorance swirling about ECT than anything I can think of. I'm dealing with one person and her experience with ECT. Everyone's experience is unique to them.

We're having lunch together tomorrow and I'll have lots to report next week.

Stay tuned and again, thank you so much for your comments, your thoughtfulness and your warm welcome on my return from my week long break.

You make me feel so good.

Hugs,
sln
