A glitch in Durham
All eight municipalities in Durham Region have a critical referendum question on the ballot today.
And the region’s website is down. Which means people in Durham don't have any official means of checking results.
The referendum is to decide whether a powerful position in regional politics, the Chair of Regional Council, should be changed from appointment by council members to election by general vote.
www.durham.ca has been down since mid-afternoon. If it’s not up by 8 p.m. when polls close, residents can call the clerks's office at (905) 668-7711 ext. 3 for results.
