It is truly amazing to see this kind of support for an obviously great man and the family he leaves behind to early in life. I am proud of the people of Toronto and all of the public service people who made this a special day as sad as this all is. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Russel family and all the people who do this type of work everyday God bless you all and may we never see this happen again to any family.

Today is a sad day for Toronto and its people who are good and honest. They do stand by their Metropolitan Toronto Police Force as they know the dangers faced every day.
May i take time to comment on the excellent coverage by the Star of Sgt. Russell's Funeral and the Privacy given to the Family during their time of grieveing.
I am surprised as your paper ther Star has come accross for years as very anti police always there for the underdogs well guess what the police are those underdogs " Damed if do damed if don't"
Sgt. Russell R.I.P. a Hero in Life.
