My condolences go out to Sgt. Russell's family and his fellows police officers. Today I stood on University Avenue along with many others to pay my respect to a man that gave his life to protected this great city Toronto which I along with many generations of my family have been proud to call home.

Good bye to a Real Hero and pray for his Soul and family.

It is truly amazing to see this kind of support for an obviously great man and the family he leaves behind to early in life. I am proud of the people of Toronto and all of the public service people who made this a special day as sad as this all is. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Russel family and all the people who do this type of work everyday God bless you all and may we never see this happen again to any family.

I remember reading about Sgt. Russell's death in our newspaper. Today as I look over Lake Ontario to Toronto from Wilson, New York I have the feeling of closeness. My prayers are for Sgt. Today is a sad day for Toronto and its people who are good and honest. They do stand by their Metropolitan Toronto Police Force as they know the dangers faced every day.
