Curiously, the annual statement comes earlier than usual and will be tabled the day rookie Finance Minister Dwight Duncan celebrates his third week on the job and at the same time as the province's Environmental Commissioner unleashes his yearly report.
And of course it is just a freak coindence that Duncan's summary will be made public the same day the first part of the Gomery report into the federal Liberal sponsorship scandal is being unveiled to great media and political fanfare in Ottawa.
Because no government would ever be so cynical as to divulge potentially troubling news on a day it would get nary a mention on the nightly newscasts or in the newspapers or blogosphere. Would they?
For the few of you who will be paying attention, Duncan's review will be released at 1:45 p.m. on Tuesday and he will be meeting with the media at 3:30 p.m. after Question Period.
