McGuinty took time off from his year-end television interviews on Wednesday to drop off eight packs of toys and almost $1,000 in cash raised by Liberal caucus and staffers at CHUM Radio for the CHUMCity Christmas Wish.
Among the toys were lots of stuffed animals - including many doggies, though none that look like his beloved pet Mikki - some board games, Star Wars gear and, of course, Barbie dolls.
Speaking of charitable deeds from Queen’s Park, the Press Gallery auction tally is in and it appears to be a record. More than $35,000 was raised for the United Way and Lieutenant Governor James Bartleman’s native literacy charity.
Special thanks goes to Toronto Sun columnist Christina Blizzard, who used a week of her vacation to organize the auction, and gallery steward Gerald Christopher.
